Growing up an Air Force brat, Matthew Richmond has lived all over the world and gained an appreciation for diverse cultures, peoples and architecture. But even after living in many cities and many types of dwellings, the thing he has always searched for is a place to call home. Like any good journey, the place you end up is often the place you began. The same goes for Matthew who finally found home in Michigan--the place he was born and has returned with his husband Randy to build their home in a nearly 100-year-old house they are restoring in the University District of Detroit.
Matthew went to James Madison University in Virginia for degrees in English and Communications. And after a film career in Hollywood and owning a small fitness business in San Francisco, he knows the through line of his education and careers is relationship building. His search for home and his ability to effectively communicate and understand the needs of his clients have brought him to a career in real estate, where he helps others in their quest for house and home.
He is a passionate fan of Detroit's grit, culture, and never say die approach to challenges. And as a student of its history and neighborhoods, he is excited to help others find their place in this unfolding story of success and opportunity.
